The Roaming Gnome

1. Decide where your gnome is going to roam. I’ve included some suggestions.

2. Cut out the large gnome to use as a template. Lightly trace your gnome onto the canvas with pencil.

3. Using largest brush, paint in your background.  –  If you are simply doing the snowy gnomes: Use largest brush and blue and very little black paint to create a dark blue for the ground. Paint approx. 1.5 inches from the bottom. Do Not Rinse your brush, but add white to the brush, and work your way upward only picking up more white when needed so that you create a background from a light blue to a very light blue/white.

4. Use Medium brush to fill in the hats and pants. Then use same brush to add black shoes. Rinse. Mix white, a very little yellow and very little red to create the flesh tone of face. Rinse. Use white and black to create beards. Let dry some or use a hair dryer. Then add the noses.

5. Use small brush to add details to hats background and snow.
